Prancing Aspens

Limited edition fine art print of 6 – Telluride Colorado is one of the most beautiful places in the United States during the fall. The aspen trees transition from lush green into a blinding gold landscape. My days would consist of looking for compositions and searching for wildlife. On my final day of searching for shots, I had a portfolio worth of landscapes but close to no wildlife shots from the region. Then, perfectly set in front of a vibrant grove of aspens sat four little deer. I stopped my car and got out quietly. I didn’t want to spook them. We observed each other briefly before they felt comfortable returning to eating. As they pranced away, I captured one just before they disappeared back into the forest.  Photo © copyright by Derek Nielsen.
