Unfamiliar Perspective

The Eiffel Tower is romantically French. Standing 1,063 feet tall above Paris, it can be seen from any part of the city. For 41 years it held the title as the tallest structure in the world. Lovers sip champagne on open lawn spaces nostalgically gazing at this iron structure and surrounding Paris. Constructed in 1889 for the World’s Fair, initially the structure was criticized by local architects. However now, The Eiffel Tower now has become a cultural icon and the most visited paid monument in the world. Being such a beautiful structure in such a beautiful setting, I wanted to photograph it with more of a gritty city feel. From the far bank of the Seine River this perspective brings in an unfamiliar view for most people showing the tower rising up above the river into the clouds.
