Limited Edition Fine Art Print of 6 – I remember taking the fairies through the San Juan Islands while filming a documentary on Southern Resident Killer Whales and thinking to myself, this has to be one of the most beautiful landscapes I have ever seen. Looking in one direction, you have a network of islands filled with life leading towards the open ocean. The other direction, back towards shore, you have layers of mountains leading to a snow-capped Mount Baker. I used my 100-500mm lens to compress the scene. Sometimes a telephoto lens is the best tool for the job. Something about this felt like it needed to be in black and white, like the great Ansel Adams would produce.
