Tanzania 2022

The Grey Crowned Crane is one of Africa’s most beautiful birds and the national bird of Uganda. Standing over 3 feet tall with a 6-foot-5-inch wingspan, these decorated birds gracefully soar through the air. While I was in the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area, two large groups gathered along the border of a grove of wetlands. On my camera was a 600mm lens with a 1.4 extender perfect for capturing birds in flight. One flew particularly close to us, and with my camera locked in on it, I was able to capture some incredible detail of it mid-flight. Limited edition fine art print of 6.
