Limited edition fine art print of 6 – Sarakiniko Beach in Milos, Greece, has been given the nickname Moon Beach because of its otherworldly appearance. White stone ebbs and flows in all kinds of different directions. The shapes and formations create the kind of settings artists dream of. My first attempt to photograph this location threw a few surprises at me. I was initially focusing on a small slot canyon in the opposite direction of this photograph when this composition really caught my eye. In a place where life would seem to struggle to survive, this beautiful mound of plants breaks the stark white earth. Combined with the flowing rock toward the sea and the sunbeam shooting over the rocks, this was the shot I came for. Photo © copyright by Derek Nielsen
