Limited edition fine art print of 6 – After getting up several days in a row for sunrise only to be let down by clear blue skies, finally, the skies provided some beautiful colors. I drove up to Dallas Divide and waited for the sun to peak over the mountains. Using a graduated neutral density filter, I kept the top of the photo properly exposed to the foreground. The air was so sweet and crisp. This time of year, the mornings in the mountainous Southwest are often freezing, giving way to warm afternoons. I captured the scene and then let the warm sun thaw out my frozen fingers. Telluride during fall is pure magic. Photo © copyright by Derek Nielsen.
