Yellowstone National Park 2020

Limited edition fine art print of 50 –Yellowstone National Park is one of the most wild places in the United States. Large mammals still roam the forest like they have for centuries. Geothermal energy rumbles beneath the crust spewing out across the landscape. The energy of this place is addicting. The morning this photograph was taken I had followed a pack of wolves up the Lamar Valley. They were calling back and forth across the valley to each other in the most beautiful morning soundtrack to fit this landscape. I was fortunate to come across a few of the family members to photograph. Later that evening before turning in for the night, I heard the call once again. This time, as a full moon rose over the surrounding mountains blanketed in darkness. This photo is gritty and raw as Yellowstone itself. Photo © copyright by Derek Nielsen
