Windsor Watch

Limited edition fine art print of 6 – Windsor Castle is a special place. The sheer number of royals buried there shows the significance of this place to English culture. When visiting castles or other famous buildings, I tend not to focus on the building itself but on the little moments of life happening around them. If I had more than a few hours, I might have found a grand composition of the castle, but when you’re just passing through, it is best to just keep your eye open. The rain was pouring down rather heavily, and I foolishly didn’t have an umbrella. The guards and castle staff did though. While getting completely soaked, I looked back and saw this woman standing with the castle wall as her backdrop. The umbrella was casting a shadow over her face, giving her an eerie presence. The whole scene has a moody British feel to it. Her hat and uniform stand out against the detailed wall. The color palette works so well in this shot.
