Limited edition fine art print of 6 – The sleepy town of Pietrapertosa sees fewer visitors than its southern Italian neighbors due to its steep mountain location. The intense winding roads do not favor the larger tour busses keeping visitation to those who drive personal vehicles. Due to this, Pietrapertosa feels like the intimate Italian village we have all been searching for. During my time there I saw very few tourists and spent hours just watching the world go by. Every member of the village seemed to know one another. Time certainly runs slower here. Paired with the incredible view, the way of life here resonated with me completely. Very few people were on their phones, children played in the streets, and neighbors gathered around town talking to one another. My fondness for this place will never fade. My hope is that Pietrapertosa stays exactly in whatever decade it decided to pause in. Copyright Derek Nielsen Photography
